St Pat’s Parish Annual Luncheon

Yet again a successful Parish Lunch was held at Carmen’s On the Park Restaurant, at Barnwell Park Golf Club on Wednesday,13 June , 2018. Thanks to the organisers, Anne Manenti and her committee, 45 people enjoyed a lovely lunch, and good company while being entertained by singer Kerrie Graham.

The Parish luncheon is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and unwind. The venue, overlooking the Parramatta River, with the sun pouring in the big glass windows is a relaxing retreat from the cold, wintry June weather. The wide choice of food at economical prices was also a drawcard.

Monsignor John said Grace, reminding us how fortunate we were to have this opportunity to socialise and share a good meal. Of course, he also had a few jokes up his sleeve – everyone took it in good fun.

As the meal got underway, our surprise singer, Kerrie Graham took requests and was also joined by parishioner, Anne Cushway in a couple of duets. And there was also the opportunity to kick up your heels and have a dance.

Before the end of lunch there were the red dot surprise gifts and lucky door prizes. Reluctantly it was soon time to head back to winter.

Having been to several Parish luncheon, I can recommend that you certainly come along to the next one. I for one, enjoy meeting parishioners I don’t know and seeing some of our older folk have a good time. This is what makes St Pat’s so special : we are a real family community.

Of course, this would not happen without the energy and hard work of Anne Manenti and her team. Many  thanks once more to the Social Ministry.
