Lent is the champion story of a journey of healing and growth. It does not offer a clean, shiny, unblemished image, free of challenges, questions and doubt. Rather, Lent seeks to embrace the doubt and challenges we each face, front on!! Lent is about healing – our healing and the world’s healing, through connection with a God that loves us, warts and all.

The now deceased American Baptist Minister, Rev Peter J. Gomes, once said, “The question should not be ‘What would Jesus do?’ but rather, more dangerously, ‘What would Jesus have me do?‘ The onus is not on Jesus but on us, for Jesus did not come to ask semi-divine human beings to do impossible things. He came to ask human beings to live up to their full humanity; he wants us to live in the full implication of our human gifts, and that is far more demanding.”

This Lent, let us take up the challenge – ‘What Would Jesus HAVE ME DO This Lent?’
